Well...just over 3 weeks ago we got a call from the realtor we've been working with on our new home search and he had a young family transferring in from Calgary that were looking for a house just like ours. So he called us up and asked if we'd be interested in showing them our house and possibly selling it now. Well as you know we aren't finished our renovations just yet, we still have new windows to go in, a basement to finish and the entire yard needs to be re-landscaped and fenced, but we thought why not - show it to them! Next thing we know, they wrote an offer and our house was sold!!!
Okay, so here's where things start to get really crazy. Selling a home where we live before securing your next house is not wise because of two reasons: 1, there are hardly any homes on the market, and 2, what homes are listed often go in bidding wars for way over asking price.
As you know we've been searching unsuccessfully for a home in the country on a small acreage for over a year and now that we sold our house we had to put our search into overdrive! We decided to expand our search area to include the 2 towns that were near the rural areas we were looking in and this past Saturday up came the perfect house for us and we snapped it up!
So it's official, we are moving once again!! The house we bought is located in a small town, less than 3000 people, and although it isn't on acreage it has a great lot that backs onto an old farm so it gives us that rural feel we wanted.
We are so excited to move!! As soon as we walked in the front door of the new house it felt right and we could see us living there immediately. So just a few days ago moving boxes started to fill our house once again, but this time we are really looking forward to the move ahead of us!
To add even more craziness to these crazy times I am taking a photography course over at The Bloom Forum. It's probably not the best timing to be taking a course right now, but two of my most favourite photographers are teaching it so I couldn't pass it up. This week's assignment is all about using the light in your house 3 different ways and the photos in today's post are from my assignment.
On top of everything my poor little munchkins (aka. models) are sick with the flu right now so I couldn't take the photos I had originally planned for the assignment, but none the less I think the ones I was able to capture tell a much better story and I love how the different light adds such emotion to the photos.
Blogging might be a little sporadic until we move again, but I will be sure to pop in here or on my Facebook page to give you some updates. However, once I'm settled into our new home I'll be back for good!! I am so super excited about this house! It's only 2 1/2 years old and has tons of closets which is perfect for my organizing addiction (LOL!) and my husband has offered to build me a new craft room so I can start crafting once again!! Can't wait!
Until then, have a super amazing week everyone!
