Life is busy, especially this time of the year, so I wanted to keep my Christmas card making simple, but still creative and personal. Paislee Press had this really wonderful pre-made digital Christmas card template and I knew as soon as I saw it, it would be perfect for us this year!
Instead of going with the flat stationery style, I did a folded greeting card style because many of the cards I'd be sending out would hold either a gift card or something extra, and I thought the folded card would just work better.
I love how this design template allowed me to include all my most favourite photos of the girls from 2012, as well as add a little bit of fun information about each munchkin. Also, using a folded card design allowed me space to write a personal Christmas greeting and add any special additional notes.
For the back of the card I kept it simple and just framed the image from the front centering it on the card. I had all my cards printed at Shutterfly and really love how they turned out.
Now if you've been reading my blog for awhile you'll know that our family has had a lot of change this year and to be truthful, some of the change has been difficult. We made a big move, undergone a huge house renovation and my little munchkins started Kindergarten, just to name a few of the big things. However, something really wonderful has come from all the change and that's been a clear picture for me about what's really important in life.
For the first time I'm excited about the coming New Year and it's because I have a plan! A plan to embrace and celebrate the little things. I've made a resolution to get back to doing the things that bring me joy - spending time with my family, documenting life through stories, photographs and video, and creating a cozy and simplified home.
I can't have a resolution without an action plan! If you know me, you know I love to roadmap everything. So you are probably asking yourself, "so what's this master plan of yours" :-)...well, I'm still working on a few final pieces, but I promise to share it with you soon and who knows, maybe you too will be inspired to join in the journey!
Until then here's a hint, remember this post and this video:
.....well this is a big part of my resolution for 2013 and I've planned a way to keep it simple and keep it fun.
So how about you, do you have any New Year's resolutions for 2013? Please share!!
